STEP 01 — DATA
Excel as the source of truth
One row per recipient. Columns: FirstName FullAddress Neighborhood BarcodeID. I'll add data validation rules to block typos at entry.
STEP 02 — TEMPLATE
InDesign master with placeholders
Static pages stay locked. Variable text frames use <<FirstName>> and @neighborhood_image. Conditional layers swap neighborhood pages automatically.
STEP 03 — MERGE
One run → 300 unique PDFs
Window → Utilities → Data Merge. Export as merged document, then PDF/X-1a with bleed + crop marks. A pre-flight script catches missing images before export.

Excel has a Neighborhood column. In InDesign, each neighborhood lives on its own conditional layer. Data Merge reads the column and shows only the matching layer per record — same template, different pages, all in one merge.

Three-layer guard: (1) Excel data validation blocks bad input. (2) A pre-flight script checks every record has a matching image + non-empty address. (3) Random 5% spot-check + barcode/ID on each page traceable to the source row.
